Who is Quilt Ninja?
Quilt Ninja is the quilt studio of the award-winning quilter Julia Fikse, an AQS Certified Quilt Appraiser in Southern California. She appraises quilts, teaches and lectures around the country, restores and conserves antique and heirloom quilts, offers edge-to-edge longarm quilting, and makes T-shirt quilts.
Quilt Appraisals in Southern California
Julia offers quilt appraisals in Los Angeles County, Conejo Valley, Simi Valley, Ventura County, the San Gabriel Valley, and beyond.
AQS requires that every quilt be examined in person. Photos are not enough for a quilt appraisal. Julia conducts appraisals by appointment only in West Hills, California. She does not make house calls.

Quilt Lectures
Julia is available for speaking and teaching and has years of experience bringing entertaining, informative presentations to quilt guilds and other organizations. She can travel throughout the country. Lecture topics include:

Workshop and Appraisal Day
A quilt guild that books a lecture can add a second day.
The first half of that day is a bed-turning workshop. Members bring quilts and gather around, and Julia discusses each quilt as they flip through them one by one.
The second half is for quilt appraisals. Members who would like a quilt appraised come back for an appointment.

Antique Quilt Restoration and Conservation
Julia offers restoration and museum-quality conservation for unsoiled antique and heirloom quilts in excellent condition.
Julia does not clean or repair quilts. If you would like a quilt cleaned or repaired, please leave a message in the contact form. Julia is happy to connect you with someone who may be able to help.
Edge-to-Edge Long Arm Quilting
Julia offers longarm quilting, edge to edge only, using digital pantographs. Custom quilting is not offered.
Please use the contact form to ask about rates. Longarm rates are based on the size of the pantograph and the size of the quilt.
T-shirt Quilt Making
Julia regularly makes individualized T-shirt quilts. If you would like a memory quilt made from T-shirts, please contact Julia for details.

Have a quilt you love that is worn to pieces? Ask Julia about creating a reproduction. Have a quilt in mind, but you don't want to make it? Ask Julia about creating custom quilts. .
